The Game – The Memories (Irish World Cup Song – Italia 90)

The Game by The Memories. a cover of Billy Joels classic “We Didn’t Start The Fire” but with the lyrics memorably altered ahead of Irelands first World Cup in 1990. An array of clips and images compiled by me to match the lyrics, that chronicle the magic moments of Jack Charltons time in charge of the Republic of Ireland side. The first time I heard this song was in 07, uploaded with a video by worm2345. It seems to have been removed so I uploaded it again with my own video, hope you enjoy it! I do not own the music or clips used in this video.

MD Sega Soccer (World Cup Italia 90)

Simple, fast, fun! Most recognized as “World Cup Italia 90″, this was everyone’s first Megadrive soccer game due to the fact that it was often packed in the Megagames compilations part of the Megadrive retail sets. As with most sports title, really good played against a friend. Sorry for the lack of spectacular goals in this Italy vs Spain classic match, I remember scoring much more often back in the days. Mind you, when the SNES arrived in ’92 over here in Portugal, this had some seriously stiff competition against Human’s “Super Soccer”, not mention everyone’s favourite “Sensible Soccer” on the Commodore Amiga which would later end up on both Megadrive and SNES., along with EA Sports FIFA and Konami’s “International Superstar Soccer”. Nope, we can’t say we had a shortage of soccer games around here. JRPGs, in the other hand… *snif*

[AMSTRAD CPC] World Cup Soccer Italia ’90 – Review & Longplay

Longplay and review for Italia ’90 (World Cup Soccer) on the Amstrad CPC Sadly it’s not a conversion of the arcade classic Tecmo World Cup ’90, but is the ‘official licensed’ game of the world cup for the home computers. Initially it looks pretty good when the game starts, but serious defects in gameplay become all too apparent plus with over-easy teams for the first few matches it starts to become pretty dull. Good stuff in 2 player though. And what’s with the pathetic number of teams available to select when the players strip colours stay the same every game?? (c) Virgin Games 1990 cpc-power.com
